What’s Happening?
It’s your chance to connect and learn how Kearns Improvement District (KID) determines the 2026 Budget and Water & Sewer Rates.
Over the next three months, the KID Board of Trustees and Management will be developing the 2026 Budget and Rates.
🔑 Major Issues Impacting This Year’s Rates:
- 📈 7.6% wholesale water rate increase from Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD).
- 📜 Utah House Bill 274 – Mandating Landscape Water Tier Pricing Increases.
- 🏗️ Increased capital & maintenance costs of water & sewer piping materials due to tariffs.
- 💵 New Utah Division of Drinking Water Fee – $0.0331/1,000 gallons.
- ❌ Loss of anticipated Federal & State grant funding.
- 💧 Ongoing $500,000,000 renovation of Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility sewer treatment plant.

- Minimize costs to Residential Single-Family customers.
- Work toward equalization of rates across all classifications.
- Ensure the safe, clean, and reliable delivery of water and sewer services.
