What started as a unique idea to combine community fitness with water conservation awareness became an incredible morning filled with energy, laughter, family fun, and community pride. Together, we helped promote healthy habits, strengthen community connections, and spread the message that small actions can make a big difference in protecting one of our most valuable resources: water.

Celebrating an Amazing First Year

Participants of all ages and abilities joined us for a memorable morning of running, walking, learning, and community celebration before heading off to enjoy the Hometown Celebration Parade.

 

The success of this inaugural event demonstrated what makes our community special and our promise that WE CARE!

💧 Why the "Running Toilet"?

The Running Toilet 5K isn't just about crossing a finish line.

Running toilets are one of the most common sources of household water waste. Through this event, we aim to raise awareness about simple ways residents can conserve water, including:

  • Checking for hidden leaks
  • Replacing worn toilet flappers
  • Monitoring water usage
  • Exploring available toilet rebate programs
  • Practicing water-wise habits at home
